Designing for Wellbeing & Climate Resilience

AN ARUP BREAKFAST TALK @ THE ARCHITECTURE CENTRE

What do we mean when we talk about ‘green infrastructure’?

Green infrastructure is an approach to engineering that focuses on resolving technical challenges whilst simultaneously delivering social and environmental value.

Green infrastructure projects vary widely in scale and appearance. Often, they combine civil engineering – such as sustainable drainage, flood defence or river restoration schemes – with significant landscape and public realm improvements. The result is new or improved public access to green and open spaces, the creation of active travel routes and / or new recreational amenities alongside greater climate resilience and better quality
infrastructure.

Join Arup for breakfast to learn more about green infrastructure and award-winning projects from near and far that exemplify this field of design.

Arup is an employee-owned global professional services firm with a focus on the built environment. We have been based in central Bristol for more than 45 years, and our 350+ strong local team contributes to many of the strategies, plans and designs that are shaping the future of Bristol and the West of England.
