This innovative iron ship with screw propellers was by far the largest ocean-going vessel in the world at the time of building. After decades abandonment and neglect, it was saved and transported back to Bristol where high-tech conservation work, including the installation of a glass plate across the dry dock at the level of the water line, has preserved her for future generations.
