Bristol Open Doors celebrates the past, present and future of our city through a programme of quality events and innovative, one-off experiences. For one weekend in September, the festival gives citizens the keys to the city with hands-on workshops, talks and expert-led tours. Working with some of the world’s brightest architectural and engineering firms and resident Bristol historians, we reinvigorate our city’s iconic landmarks and uncover access to its forgotten spaces. 2023 marks 30 years of Bristol Open Doors. This anniversary year will be our next festival as we move to a biennial format.

Design West is Bristol’s centre for design and creative placemaking. Founded in 1996 and based on Bristol’s Harbourside, the charity’s mission is to encourage an understanding and enjoyment of architecture, and to champion better buildings and places for everyone.
